Create a client and verify its profile

Record the company, contact details, and relationship start date.

Pending workflow validation

This guide has been checked against the application code. Its workflow still needs validation in an isolated test account.

What you will achieve

Leave an identifiable profile and check its details before quoting or invoicing.

Before you start

  • Agency owner or administrator access to create clients.
  • Confirmed company name and contact details; check the directory first to avoid duplicates.

Steps

  1. 1. Search before creating

Open Clients and search active and inactive accounts before creating. If the account exists, open its profile. For an inactive one, choose Continue in read-only mode, or Reactivate client when appropriate and you have Clients → Edit permission. An inactive merged profile leads to the surviving record and must not be reactivated separately. Reactivating does not create an account or invite anyone to the portal.

  2. 2. Identify the company

Choose add client. Enter the required display name (maximum 160 characters) and legal name if relevant. Use a name your team can distinguish in quote and invoice selectors.

  3. 3. Check contact details

Add email addresses, label their purpose, and choose the primary one. Check the phone and country code. Fill in Client since and the website when known; the website is optional.

  4. 4. Create and check

Select create client and review the resulting profile. Confirm the name, primary email, and phone. If an error appears, read it before trying again; check whether the profile was already saved.

  5. 5. Prepare the next task

Continue from the profile to contacts, quotes, or services. Creating a profile does not invite the client to the portal: access is managed separately.

Expected result

A client profile linked to your agency with checked details. Creating the profile does not send a quote or grant portal access.

Questions about this process

The website cannot be verified

Correct the address or continue without a website and add it later when editing the client.

I lack permission or see read-only mode

Ask an authorized person to check your access or the relationship status. Do not create another profile to avoid the restriction.
